Students often enter graduate studies as accomplished readers. However, many may be more familiar with reading professional literature than academic writing. Reading academic writing can become more comfortable, and accessible, if students are aware of reading strategies that academic readers use.
In this session, we will discuss what it is we actually do when we read academic literature for scholarly purposes, such as reading for a literature review or reading about research methodology. Reading academically is intentional reading and we will spend time making this a conscious process.
