Whale of a Day 2025 Exhibitors

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, A Whale of a Day will happen in the Core Science Facility on the St. John's campus from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This fun and exciting family event is designed to promote our oceans-related research, teaching and learning, and showcase Memorial to prospective students.

Like last year, this event will bring members of the public, including Memorial alumni, to the St. John's campus and highlight ocean opportunities at Memorial to future students and families in a fun, accessible format.

This form will provide us with a solid understanding of what we require to learn about the work of your unit/department/faculty and the interactive display, hands-on activity, or other engaging experience you plan to offer.

Like last year, exhibits must be staffed by representatives from your unit/department/faculty during the event, with set up happening the previous day is also the responsibility of the unit. We ask that all exhibitors be ready for guests by 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, as doors open to the public promptly at 9:30 a.m.

The exhibit space provided is one table (8-foot table). Is this adequate for your presentation? Will you need any additional requirements for your exhibit? For example, chairs, poster boards, electricity, power bar, water access, additional table(s), would you prefer to be placed adjacent to another group, or room in the building, etc. Please note that that power bars will not be provided, but we need to know if these will be used for layout of the space and exhibitors.

Please provide a catchy name for your exhibit. This should be two to four words in length.

Please provide a short, descriptive blurb of the exhibit or research that will be used in the marketing. Please keep your audience in mind; the general community and younger audience. NOTE: 15 word maximum, due to space constrictions.

Event coordinator or contact name (with whom will we be communicating). Please note it is the responsibility of this person to distribute all relevant messaging with your team, especially those who will be working your exhibit on event day.
