The Department of Political Science at Memorial University is excited to mark its 60th anniversary with Fish and Chips and Politics, a special reunion event for the department’s alumni, students and faculty and staff (past or present!).
Please join us at the Marine Institute on Friday, May 22 for lively conversation, a feed of fish and chips, and a chance to reconnect while celebrating this important milestone.
We’ll also present a panel discussion, Navigating the Maelstrom, focused on the current geopolitical outlook featuring beloved political science professor Dr. Lucian Ashworth, prominent Canadian military and public historian Dr. Dean Oliver (BA’87), and Toronto Star bureau chief and senior reporter Tonda MacCharles (BA’83). The discussion will be moderated by Tim Powers (BA’91), vice-chairman of Summa Strategies, managing director of Abacus Data, and host of VOCM's The Tim Powers Show, and will be livestreamed.
The event is co-chaired by Tim Powers, and president and CEO of Humber Polytechnic, Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan (BA'86, B.Ed.'94).
